Photos
JPEG, up to 8 MB, from 4:5 (portrait) to 1.91:1 (landscape). Other formats get a JPEG copy.
Videos
Up to 60 seconds each.
Shape
Keep every slide the same shape; 4:5 portrait takes the most room in the feed.
Caption
Up to 2,200 characters, 30 hashtags and 20 mentions.

    Add the slides

Upload them or pick them from the media library, and drag them into order.

  2. 2

    Crop and check

Crop each photo to one shape; Hivenza checks counts and sizes for Instagram.

  3. 3

    Schedule

Pick a time and schedule the carousel with the rest of the week.

What works

What works

  • Make the first slide a reason to swipe
  • One idea per slide, big enough to read on a phone
  • End with what to do next: save, share, visit
  • Turn a multi-page Canva design into the slides

What to avoid

  • Slides of different shapes
  • More than 10 slides
  • Videos longer than 60 seconds inside a carousel

Hivenza warns you before scheduling when a file breaks the network’s rules.

Questions

Can I mix photos and videos?

Yes. A carousel can mix both, up to 10 slides.

What size should carousel photos be?

Portrait 4:5 (for example 1080 × 1350) shows the most in the feed; keep every slide the same.

Can I resize photos for free?

Yes: the free image resizer crops a photo to Instagram’s shapes in your browser.
