Carousel post

One post holding several photos or videos that people swipe through, on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads and others.

A carousel holds several slides in one post. It suits step-by-step guides, before-and-after, a product from every side, or a story told one slide at a time. Each swipe keeps people on the post a little longer, and a strong first slide decides whether they swipe at all.

Limits differ by network and by how you publish. Through Instagram’s publishing API a carousel takes 2 to 10 photos or videos, with videos up to 60 seconds; Threads takes up to 20 items. Keep every slide the same shape, since the first one usually sets it for all.
