How it counts
- X
- X weighs what you type: every link counts 23 whatever its length, and emoji and most non-Latin characters count 2. This counter does the same, so 280 means what X means.
- Up to 2,200 characters, 30 hashtags and 20 mentions. Only the first 125 characters show before "more", so put the hook first.
- Up to 3,000 characters; about 210 show before "see more".
- The others
- Threads 500, Bluesky 300, Pinterest 500, TikTok 2,200, YouTube descriptions 5,000, Google Business Profile 1,500 and Telegram 4,096, counted as characters.

Questions
Why does X count my caption longer than other counters?
Because X counts every link as 23 characters and emoji as 2. Counters that simply count characters say a post fits when X will refuse it.
Do spaces and line breaks count?
Yes, on every network. A line break is one character.

No. It's counted in your browser and never sent to us.
